Friends of Sawtry Community College (FOSCC)

“To Support the College Today, for Better Futures for our Children and the Community”

Formerly, we were known as the Sawtry Community College Parent Teacher Student Association. This however, meant that we could only involve a small section of the community in our activities and events, because people were required to have direct links with the College. As a group, we wanted to put this right and we have achieved this by changing our status. We have also taken on a proper constitution. We are now able to open our doors to the wider community, to include ex-students who want to put back something into the College, members of the community who wish to be associated with us and who might want to offer their help, as well as those in business in the community who can see the benefit of forging links with us.

The Friends of Sawtry Community College (or FoSCC) was created to support the students and community users of the college by raising funds for additional equipment and facilities. We do this by raising funds throughout the year by organising at least four fun social events. Check out our events on the College Calendar. We also run a “200 Club” draw each month.

The “200 Club” is your chance to win a monthly prize by merely paying £12 per year by filling an application form or going on to the college website and paying via Parentpay. Half of all the money collected will go in prizes, the other half goes towards the FoSCC Funds. The "200 Club" now runs in line with the College calendar so that the draws run from October (September is used to collate all payments) to July (as August is the Summer Holiday). Only 10 draws, but the prize money has been shared out equally among these 10 monthly draws. The monthly prizes depend on how many people join. The more people who join, the bigger the prizes. We have no problem in accepting new members to the "200 Club" at any time of the year, as the cost of a ticket will then reflect the remaining number of months that are left at a rate of £1.00 per month plus £2.00 admin fee. Application forms to join the FoSCC "200 Club" are available from either a Committee member or from the College's Pastoral office or you can download from this page.

The winning numbers are drawn every month in the Pastoral Office and are published on the College Web site www.sawtrycc.com. If you are lucky enough to win a prize then a cheque will be sent to you, usually by the 15th of the month.

By joining the FoSCC committee there are also opportunities to ensure all children at Sawtry Community College are receiving a quality education. Currently the College is working with the FoSCC to develop the new College website and Learning Gateway to enable online learning, services and communication between home and college.

All our Diary Dates are now included on the College Calendar.
