Enterprise Across the Curriculum

Vertical tutoring has opened up the opportunity for Sawtry Community College to develop Enterprise Across the Curriculum.  An initiative has been introduced that develops key skills that will enable Sawtry Community College students to enjoy a successful and rewarding future.  Every student will compile evidence towards an internally certificated award during registration time over the course of the year.

Students will start this year working towards the award appropriate to their Year Group.

Year 7 & 8 students – Bronze
Year 9 &10 students – Silver
Year 11 and 6th Form – Gold.

From this starting point students will collate evidence towards the achievement of the award.  As students complete one award they can move onto the next level.

The key skills looked at are:

  • Communication
  • Creativity
  • Planning
  • Problem-solving
  • Decision-making
  • Team-working
  • Independence
  • Risk management

Students will use registration time to fill in their booklets, but evidence can be collected from across their curriculum of study.

Enterprise Event
In addition to Enterprise Across the Curriculum, all form groups will put on an enterprise event over the course of a year.  Each Pastoral Zone will spend a half term working together to put on an ‘event’ within that half term.
