Student Voice- Sixth Form Student Council

When you become a Sixth Form Student you will have an opportunity to influence what goes on in College by becoming a representative on the Sixth Form Student Council.

 What’s involved?

The Student Council meets at break time each Wednesday in the Sixth Form Centre with the Sixth Form Student Support Officer. They organise social events for students and represent the views of their tutor groups. An agenda and minutes are produced and posted onto the Sixth Life Notice Board . The meetings are chaired by a nominated student-chairperson. The committee is made up of core of year 12 and year 13 representatives, who may also choose to sit on the whole school Student Voice. The 6th form council is set up to run along side Student Voice. There will be representatives from the Sixth Form on Student Voice but the 6th form also has a council for its own purposes.

What’s in it for you?

The Sixth Form Council provides opportunities for students to propose, manage, lead and respond to change. By being involved in the Sixth Form Council students engage in decision making processes that have a real impact on expenditure, policies and guidelines for staff and students in the Sixth Form. Positive student involvement will undoubtedly impact on references that the College can provide.

Have your say…
